SIX WA STUDENTS TO BE PRESENTED WITH LONG TAN BURSARIES

Six sons and daughters of Vietnam veterans will be awarded Long Tan Bursaries worth up to
$9000 today by the Minister for Veterans Affairs, Alan Griffin.
The students will be in attendance with their families. Please note three students wish to
remain anonymous.
Long Tan Bursaries will be presented to 53 students across the country in the coming weeks.
The bursaries recognise the difficulties children of Vietnam veterans may face. Educational
support has been shown to be effective in improving well-being and resilience to issues arising
from their parents service in Vietnam.
Minister Griffin and two recipients will be available for short interviews following the
presentation ceremony.
The students are studying at the following institutions:
University of Notre Dame;
Central TAFE, Perth;
University of Western Australia; and
Curtin University of Technology.
