MFB Welcomes Recruit Course 100
WHAT:
The MFBs newest recruits will be graduating in an official
ceremony
tomorrow.
DATE: Wednesday 16 December 2009
TIME: 10am sharp - 12pm
LOCATION: Royal Melbourne Showgrounds, Public Grandstand

WHY:
The 24
members of recruit course 100
have
undergone 15 and a half
weeks of intensive training including traditional hose drills, hot fire
training, emergency medical response, dangerous goods detection
and road accident rescue.
MFBs newest recruits, who range from 21 to 44 years of age, will
take
part in a firefighting display at the graduation, including a
demonstration of structural firefighting and a simulated
road rescue
using the jaws of life.
MFB Chief Fire Officer Tony Murphy said the training recruits have
received will fully equip them
to deal with current and future
emergencies.
These new recruits are well trained in all aspects of emergency
response and community preparedness;
they are passionate and
above all ready and eager to protect our community, he said.
