NSW Election: Frank Sartor back in the frame,

as Mike Baird emerges as Coalition leader

hopeful!

Former NSW Planning Minister Frank Sartor has roared back into second

favourite with bookmaker Centrebet behind embattled Premier Nathan Rees to

be Labor leader when NSW next goes to the polls!

Centrebet media chief Neil Evans said he believed Sartor was canvassing numbers and

preparing a challenge to Mr Rees’ leadership as Treasurer Eric Roozendahl also firmed

dramatically in the market in the wake of revelations he was also preparing a move!

“In the wake of the Premier’s brave and bold decision to hijack the cabinet-making process,

my mail is the challenge – or challenges - to his position are gaining momentum by the day,”

Evans said. “Mr Rees has canvassed his parliamentary colleagues – player-by-player -

demanding their support, but there’s no doubt the factional powers inside NSW Labor politics

are still alive and well!”

Evans said Mr Sartor had been the biggest firmer - $5.00 into $3.85, while the Premier eases

from $3.45 out to $3.60! Mr Roozendahl firms into singles figures ($7.00) for the first time,

while both Deputy Premier Carmel Tebbutt ($4.35) and current Planning Minister Kristina

Kenneally ($5.00) both drift out in betting!

Meanwhile, Centrebet has opened a book on the Coalition leader at the next NSW election,

installing rising Liberal Mike Baird a $2.75 shot, effectively announcing he is still a chance of

taking over from Leader Barry O’Farrell before NSW votes! The Coalition tightens into a hot

$1.16 to win office in NSW, with Labor now $4.85!

And with the likelihood of a double dissolution early election gaining strength all the

time as the barriers in the Senate go up on the ALP’s controversial and shattered ETS

legislation, new Liberal leader Tony Abbott is now $1.18 to lead the Coalition to the

ballot box, with Joe Hockey easing to $3.50!

Overnight support from punters for the Coalition – including one bet of $1,000.00 – has

seen the Opposition tighten from $5.15 back into $5.00!
