Early voting opens for By-elections
Pre-poll and postal voting has opened in the State seats of Cabramatta, Lakemba and
Ryde to assist electors who are unable to vote in the by-elections on Saturday 18 October.
Electors who cannot get to a polling place on Election Day, including anyone who will be
interstate or overseas, have these early voting options available to them, said NSW
Electoral Commissioner Colin Barry.
You can vote in person before election day by visiting a pre-poll voting centre. Pre-poll
centres will accept votes for all other areas. The location and times of pre-polling are set
out below

You can vote by post by lodging a postal vote application with the Returning Officer for
your electoral district by Monday, 13 October 2008 if youre overseas or Wednesday, 15
October 2008 if youre in Australia.
