July 28, 2008: Status of Unlawfully Expelled Ahmadi Medical Students in Pakistan Still Unclear

NEW YORK, July 3 /PRNewswire-AsiaNet/ --

A press release of Human right commission of Pakistan July 2nd speaks a volume

The following release is being issued by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA:

Miscreants of Islami Jamiat Talaba (student wing of Jamaat Islami) have tried to spread unrest to other

colleges. Agitation has been reported in Rawalpindi Medical College where three Ahmadi female students

were locked up in their rooms after mid-night. The next day Ahmadi students residing in the hostel had to

spend the night elsewhere for security reasons. Even Ahmadi professors were advised by the administration

to stay away from the campus.  Some unrest was reported at the University of Engineering & Technology,

Taxila. Disturbing news also came from Nishtar Medical College, Multan.

Looking at the corollary of events the stage seems set for a repeat of events of 1953 that culminated in

imposition of 1st martial law in Punjab-Pakistan following much civil unrest and bloodshed of an innocent

Ahmadiyya minority community. The vernacular press is also playing the same old role -- adding fuel to fire.

However, before it is too late to repent, authorities shall certainly find it practical to come down heavily on

all those anti-social elements as are bent upon creating disorder in the land and wreak havoc with the unity,

solidarity & sovereignty of our dearest motherland -– the Islamic Democratic Republic of Pakistan.
