NEW CITIZENSHIP
TEST STARTS
More than 400 people will sit the new citizenship test at Department of
Immigration and Citizenship offices in every state and territory on Monday
October 19.
Media are invited to interview, film and photograph prospective citizens sitting
the test at the Department of Immigration and Citizenships (DIAC) Canberra
office at 3 Lonsdale Street, Braddon at 10am.
Journalists can experience a sample test first-hand and report on how they
fared using a practice station set up for media to trial the test.
The new citizenship test assesses prospective new citizens on their
understanding of Australian civics and the responsibilities and privileges of
citizenship.
