VETERANS HEALTH WEEK
24-30 AUGUST
EDITORIAL MATERIALS AVAILABLE
Veterans Health Week is an initiative of the Department of Veterans Affairs to
encourage veterans, war widows, widowers and their families to think about their health
and take part in regular exercise to live a stronger, healthier and happier life. The week
will be held from 24-30 August.
There is an opportunity for your publication to be part of Veterans Health Week by
including a feature on simple exercises that anyone, particularly the elderly, can do in
their homes to help build and maintain strength and balance.
The Department of Veterans Affairs online Media Centre has factsheets for download
that you can use to help encourage and promote physical wellness amongst your
readers.
The factsheets include step-by-step exercises that can be done while waiting for the
kettle to boil or during a television ad break.
Contributed editorial about Veterans Health Week as well as the Veterans Health
Week logo is also available for download.
Visit www.dva.gov.au to download the materials from the DVA Media Centre.
