PERTH VETERANS GET ACTIVE FOR
VETERANS HEALTH WEEK
Perth veterans will get moving TOMORROW Thursday 27 August at the Perth Come
and Try Expo for Veterans Health Week.
There will be a chance to try belly dancing, strength and balance sessions and compete
in a bean-bag tossing competition. An exercise physiologist and a representative from
the Heart Foundation will be at the Expo to offer veterans advice and information.
Veterans Health Week, 24-30 August, is about encouraging veterans, war widows and
widowers to think about their health and take part in regular exercise to live a stronger,
healthier and happier life, acting Deputy Commissioner for the Department of Veterans
Affairs in Western Australia, Effie Cauchi, said.
I encourage all members of the veteran community including their families and carers
to take a healthy step forward and take part in a Veterans Health Week activity, he
said.
