NSW Government contract a shot in the arm for recruitment sector
Following a stringent tender process a select group of recruitment firms has been appointed to the
NSW State Government's Contingent Workforce (Contract 100) Panel.
The Contract 100 tender received a significant response from the recruitment sector because of its
strategic importance during an economic downturn. Public sector and temporary recruitment are
two areas that show resilience when private sector employment slows.
Contract 100 operates for an initial three year period which gives us long term visibility in an
otherwise volatile recruitment market. Weve been appointed to provide temporary staff for the full
range of finance positions as well as specialist areas including marketing, human resources,
procurement and supply chain, said Jonathan Wiles, a managing director with Michael Page
International.
Contract 100 has been introduced to consolidate previous NSW Government contracts 1078
(Administrative, Finance and Specialist), 881 (IT Contracting Personnel) and 755 (Professional,
Technical and Industrial Staff).
We will work closely with the NSW Department of Commerce to ensure a seamless period of
transition. Contract 100 will give us the scope to grow our contracting discipline and extend our
public sector profile. Its an exciting time for our business, Mr Wiles said.
