NATIONAL RECOGNITION FOR AUSTRALIAN
PEACEKEEPERS
The Minister for Veterans Affairs, Alan Griffin, will be at Parliament House TOMORROW to
announce the winning design for the new Australian Peacekeeping Memorial to be built on
Anzac Parade.
The $3.5 million project will commemorate the service and sacrifice of more than 30,000
Australian peacekeepers.
Australia has an unmatched history of peacekeeping operations across the globe and the
Australian Peacekeeping Memorial will mark the important contribution of our nations
peacekeepers to peace and stability in the world, Mr Griffin said.
Also attending (and available for interview) will be past and current serving Peacekeepers, the
successful architect and members of the Peacekeeping Memorial Fundraising Committee.
