MEDIA ACCREDITATION
DEDICATION OF THE LIGHT HORSE MEMORIAL, BEER-SHEVA
On 28 April, a memorial to the Australian Light Horse and The Park of the Australian
Soldier will be dedicated by the Governor-General, Major General Michael Jeffery, and
the President of the State of Israel, His Excellency Mr Shimon Peres, at a service in
Beer-Sheva, Israel.
Also in attendance will be a commemorative mission party of seven veterans of light
horse units led by the Minister for Veterans Affairs, Alan Griffin. The program for the
mission begins on Anzac Day.
There will be opportunities for other interviews in-country, outside of the
commemorative activities.
Media wishing to cover the service and associated activities must be accredited by the
Israeli Government through the Embassy in Canberra. The Department of Veterans
Affairs, as lead agency for the memorial dedication, is coordinating media accreditation.
For non-Israel based media to cover these events, please complete the attached
