GOVERNOR-GENERAL TO VISIT TAMWORTH COUNTRY MUSIC

FESTIVAL

The Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC and Mr Michael Bryce AM AE,

will visit Tamworth for the annual Country Music Festival over the next few

days.

Elements of the Governor-General’s program which may be of interest to the

media include:

Tuesday, January 19th


The Telstra Road to Tamworth Reception at the Tamworth Regional

Entertainment and Conference Centre at 6.00 pm


The Junior Finals of the Australian Bushman’s Campdraft and Rodeo

Association’s National Junior Finals at the Australian Equine and

Livestock Events Centre at 7.15 pm 

Wednesday, January 20th


A

stroll down Peel Street to listen to some of the 600 buskers who are

expected to perform on Wednesday, January 20th, from 10.00 am


A performance by the Gomeroi Dancers at the PCYC Building in Peel

Street at around 11.30 am


The Fiddlers’ Feast concert at the Southgate Inn at around 2.00 pm


A Civic Reception in their honour at the Tamworth Regional Art Gallery

at 5.00 pm


A concert with James Blundell, Wendy Matthews, Guy Sebastian and

Gina Jeffreys at the Jayco Country Theatre at 8.00 pm

Thursday, January 21st:


An Award Ceremony for John Williamson AM, to commemorate his

40 years of contribution to Australian Country Music at the

Powerhouse Hotel 10.00 am


A concert with Kasey Chambers, Poppa Bill and The Little Hillbillies

at the Southgate Inn at 11.15 am
