Deadline for candidates to nominate in the Bradfield by-election

Anyone interested in nominating as a candidate in the Bradfield by-election has until 12
noon Thursday, 12 November 2009 to get their nomination to the Australian Electoral
Commission (AEC).

Nomination forms are available on the AEC website at www.aec.gov.au, at any AEC office
or by calling 13 23 26. A $500 deposit is required for a candidate to nominate for the by-
election.

Nominations must be received by the Divisional Returning Officer for Bradfield, Yvonne
Harrison, at the AEC office located at Level 12, 67 Albert Avenue, Chatswood or by mail at
PO Box 1100, Chatswood NSW 2057.

Ms Harrison said Both the completed nomination form and deposit must be received by the
close of nominations date and time, and that late nominations cannot be accepted under
any circumstances.

I encourage interested candidates to lodge their nomination as early as possible in case
there are issues to be resolved before the nomination can be accepted.
