Colloquium on electoral matters
A
one-day Colloquium* discussing the electoral services that the Australian community will need in
the future is being held by the Australian Electoral Commission (AEC), tomorrow, Wednesday 23
September 2009, at the National Convention Centre, Canberra.
The Colloquium
will be opened by the Governor General, Ms Quentin Bryce AC and will bring
together over one hundred academics, psephologists, state and territory electoral commissioners,
electoral administrators, youth representatives, Special Minister of State, Senator Joe Ludwig
and
Shadow Special Minister of State, Senator Michael Ronaldson.
The Colloquium also marks 25
years since
the AECs establishment as an independent statutory
body.
