SENATOR DAVID FEENEY

Parliamentary Secretary for Defence

Western Australian Employers of Reserves Recognised

The Parliamentary Secretary for Defence, Senator David Feeney, has congratulated the five Western

Australian employers recognised last night for their support of the Australian Defence Force (ADF)

Reserves.

The event, organised by the Western Australian Committee of the Defence Reserves Support Council

(DRSC) and held at Irwin Barracks, Karrakatta, recognised employers who have supported their

Reservist employees.

The Employer of the Year Award was presented to Chevron Australia Pty Ltd by His Excellency Dr

Ken Michaels, Governor of Western Australia.

Senator Feeney offered his congratulations to all the award recipients saying, “Our Reserve forces

considerably enhance Defence capability, in particular their support of existing operations. Without the

ongoing support of employers, such as those represented at the Awards, it would not be possible for

Reservists to successfully coordinate their civilian and Service roles.”

The night was also held to congratulate the winners of the Reserve Service Excellence Awards.
