VISION OF DEFENCE SUPPORT TO OPERATION PADANG ASSIST



Defence Public Affairs will feed vision of Australian Defence Force support to the

Operation Padang Assist to Parliament House, Canberra at 1500. 


Vision includes: 


Operation Padang Assist: An Australian Army water purification and civil

engineering team arrive on a Royal Australian Air Force C-17 at Padang’s

Minangkabau International Airport. 


Operation Padang Assist: Australian Army engineers from the Darwin base

engineering regiment (1CER) with the assistance of AusAID have established a water

purification plant on the beach of Padang in Indonesia.


Operation Padang Assist: An ADF medical facility has been established in Sungai

Geringging village, 75 kilometres northwest of Padang, on request of the Indonesian

authorities, to provide health support in the outlying region.
