A public meeting to discuss the findings of the independent survey,
commissioned by Defence, on Warrill Creek water quality.
WHERE:

WHEN:
Thursday, 17 December at 6pm

Air Commodore Chris Sawade, Senior ADF Officer, RAAF Base Amberley;
Mr Gerald Griffin, Regional Director Queensland, Defence Support Group.
Earlier this year, Defence became aware that there was a possibility of heavy metals and other
contaminants entering Warrill Creek from RAAF Base Amberley.
Defence immediately alerted the Queensland Department of Environment and Resource
Management (DERM), and advised the public through the media.
Subsequently DERM requested Defence undertake an environmental survey and present its
findings by 30 November 2009. Defence has submitted its report, which is currently with
DERM for consideration.
Defence undertook to conduct a public meeting once the independent tests had been analysed.
