PROJECT SINGLE LEAP PHASE 1 ACCOMMODATION
FACILITIES HANDOVER
The Minister for Defence, the Hon. Joel Fitzgibbon MP, today formally
acknowledged the completion and handover of Project Single LEAP Phase 1
facilities at Enoggera Army Base, near Brisbane.
Defences Single LEAP project is delivering contemporary accommodation
facilities for Australian Defence Force (ADF) men and women who are
required to live-in at military establishments, Mr Fitzgibbon said.
I am pleased to announce that Defence has successfully delivered 1395 new
single-occupancy residential units under Project Single LEAP, ahead of time
and within budget.
Congratulations are extended to the Defence Project Team and the Plenary
consortium for the completion of this important project that provides high-
quality living-in accommodation at three important military bases.
Our hard-working service men and women deserve to be accommodated at
the highest possible standards, and these new facilities will contribute to an
enhanced military lifestyle and improve ADF recruitment and retention.
Mr Fitzgibbon said that Defences contract with Plenary includes ongoing
concierge services, facilities operation and maintenance responsibilities as
part of a 30-year arrangement.
The handover of the final 500 living-in accommodation units at Enoggera on
19 January 2009, by Plenary Living Pty Ltd, completed the delivery phase of
the Single LEAP Phase 1 project, under public-private partnership
arrangements. This followed the handover of 295 units at RAAF Base
Amberley in Queensland and 600 units at Holsworthy Army Base in NSW in
the second half of 2008.
