NEW COUNTER-EXPLOSIVES ROBOT TO BE

UNVEILED AT LAND WARFARE CONFERENCE


What:

The Minister for Defence Science and Personnel, The Hon

Warren Snowdon MP, will unveil a new robot designed by the

Defence Science and Technology Organisation (DSTO) to

neutralise improvised explosive devices (IEDs).



The robot will be a feature of the DSTO display at the Land

Warfare Conference at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition

Centre.



Also featured at the DSTO stand will be another robot, capable of

sniffing out radioactive threats while allowing operators to remain

at a safe distance.
