NAVY HELICOPTER SUPPORTS NRL GRAND FINAL

The Royal Australian Navy will be showcasing a Seahawk helicopter this Sunday, 5

October 2008, at the National Rugby League Grand Final.

The helicopter from 816 Squadron, based at HMAS Albatross in Nowra, will have the

honour to fly into ANZ Stadium, Homebush and deliver the Telstra Cup prior to the

main game at 4.00pm.

The Seahawk helicopter is an integral part of a ship's weapons and sensor systems,

extending its combat radius by finding, localising and attacking targets, where

appropriate.

In addition to the cheering from the Storm and Sea Eagles fans, there will be some

associated noise with the display.  Every effort will be taken to minimise the time the

aircraft is over ANZ Stadium and the surrounding areas.
