National Adventure Training Award



WHO:

Australian Army Cadets.

National Adventure Training Award.

WHERE:

Buckland Military Training Area.

WHEN:

Monday, 5 April 2010, at 10:00am.



More than 100 of the best Australian Army Cadets from around Australia will

converge on Tasmania tomorrow.


The teenagers have been selected to undertake the 2010 National Adventure Training

Award (NATA) from 3–10 April, at the Buckland Military Training Area north of

Hobart.


The NATA is the highest individual accolade available to cadets.


Over the week the cadets will be assessed on navigation, first aid, communications,

fieldcraft, initiative, marksmanship, abseiling, physical fitness and endurance.


The NATA is particularly significant this year because a number of Australian Air

Force cadets are also taking part.



Media note:

Media wishing to attend should advise Public Affairs Manager, Captain Cam Ward,

by phone, no later than 9:00am on the day.


Media must be at the front gate of Buckland Military Training Area no later than

10:00am to obtain the necessary security passes to enter the area.


Media wishing to obtain entry are required to bring photo ID, preferably a driver’s

license.
