MINISTER FOR DEFENCE VISIT TO INDONESIA
The Minister for Defence, Senator John Faulkner, is in Indonesia to meet the
Indonesian Minister for Defence, Purnomo Yusgiantoro, and the coordinating
Minister for Legal, Political and Security Affairs, Djoko Suyanto today.
Senator Faulkner has stopped over in Jakarta on his way back from the ISAF
NATO meeting in Bratislava, Slovak Republic.
The visit is a good opportunity to make early contact with his Indonesian
counterparts and to follow up on issues discussed between Prime Minister
Rudd and President Yudhoyono last week.
Ministers will discuss the ongoing strength of the bilateral defence relationship
and opportunities for further cooperation.
