Military Health Outcomes Program Launch


What:

The official launch of the Military Health Outcomes Program (MilHOP).


Where:

Sir Fredericks Holder Room, Parliament House, Canberra.


When:

10am on Tuesday 15 June 2010. Media should arrive by 9.50am to be

signed in and escorted to the launch.


Who:

Minister for Veterans’ Affairs and Minister for Defence Personnel, Alan

Griffin; and Vice Chief of the Defence Force, Lieutenant General

David Hurley will launch the Military Health Outcomes Program

(MilHOP) – a joint initiative between the Australian Defence Force and

the Centre for Military and Veterans’ Health (CMVH).


Background:

Defence has partnered with the Centre for Military and Veterans’ Health (CMVH) to

conduct a number of studies to better understand the health and wellbeing of ADF

members as part of the Military Health Outcomes Program (MilHOP). 


The $12 million study will support the work of the Departments of Defence and

Veterans’ Affairs to achieve better long-term health outcomes for Defence personnel

through improved health services and policies.
