Firing of blank volleys at the Australian Defence Force Academy


WHAT:

The Australian Defence Force Academy (ADFA) will fire blank ammunition

into the air in preparation for, and during, the annual ADFA Royal Australian

Navy Ceremonial Sunset. 


WHERE:

ADFA, Campbell, ACT

Practice:


06:50 am - 07:50 am on Wednesday, 20 October 2010




06:30 pm - 07:15 pm on Thursday, 21 October 2010



During the Ceremony: 6:30pm to 7:15pm on Friday, 22 October 2010


Background: 

During the times listed above, the Ceremonial Sunset Guard, composed of ADFA Navy

Midshipmen, will load blank cartridges into Steyr rifles and fire them into the air in volleys. 


Australia’s Federation Guard will also load a 105mm blank cartridge and fire into the air.
