Interim Light Transport aircraft in a ceremony on 6 July.

Attending the ceremony will be Commander Air Lift Group, Air Commodore John

Oddie; CEO of Hawker Pacific, Mr Alan Smith; and Councillor Les Tyrell, Mayor of

Townsville.

The King Air is powered by two turboprop engines and can transport up to eight

passengers. It is equipped with modern avionics including a ‘glass’ cockpit, and

provides an efficient and reliable platform for No. 38 Squadron to support the

Australian Defence Force.

The first three aircraft were handed over from Army Aviation last November and

another five brand new aircraft have been delivered to No. 38 Squadron this year.

Whilst No. 38 Squadron has been training pilots to fly the King Air it has continued to

support Australian Defence Force tasking across the region.
