F-111 FLYPASTS OVER BRISBANE 

ON FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND SATURDAY EVENING



What:

An Amberley-based F-111 strike aircraft from No 6 Squadron will

conduct flypasts over Brisbane city on Friday 29 and Saturday 30

August 2008, as part of Riverfire celebrations.


The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) is proud to be able to support

this activity and continue the long association it has with the Brisbane

community.


Where:

The aircraft will travel from south to north.  It will fly over a number

of suburbs, including Mount Tamborine, Sunnybank, Tarragindi,

Greenslopes, South Brisbane, Brisbane CBD, Hamilton, Red Hill and

Alderley.



Vantage Points include Kangaroo Point Cliffs, Southbank Boardwalk,

near Streets Beach, or North Quay.


When:

The aircraft will conduct two reconnaissance flights over Brisbane city

on Friday, 29 August 2008, at 12.15pm and 12.16pm.


It will perform two flypasts over the Brisbane River on Saturday, 30

August 2008, at 7.00pm and 7.30pm.  Both will include a ‘dump and

burn’ manoeuvre.


Media Note:

RAAF would appreciate media assistance in notifying communities which are beneath

the flightpath.


The aircraft’s pilot, Squadron Leader Martin Huet, is available for pre-recorded

interviews.
