DEFENCE SUPPORT TO VICTORIAN BUSHFIRE CRISIS 


WHAT: 

The ADF is offering a media opportunity to accompany soldiers

assisting police in the search of fire damaged areas in the Kinglake

region.


Agreement has been reached with Victoria Police and the CFA to allow

limited media access to restricted areas on a POOL basis.


Access will be granted on the basis that imagery / text is to be shared

with other media under pool arrangements.


WHEN:

10.30am, Thursday 12 February 2009, returning approximately

12.30pm.


WHERE:

Whittlesea CFA staging area at Whittlesea Showground.  Media will

move in their own vehicles with Australian Defence Force personnel to

the Kinglake search area.


WHO:

Media will accompany soldiers on searches and have the opportunity to

interview them during the task and also interview Major Steve

Whitehead, Officer Commanding the Search Teams.
