DEFENCE EXAMINING ALL OPTIONS FOR AMBERLEY

STATE SCHOOL

Defence is undertaking a new examination of all options for the future of Amberley

State School.

Defence is exploring all alternatives, including the option of leaving Amberley State

School in its current location.

These options include assessing the feasibility of adjusting the passive augmentation

component of the base redevelopment, including the possibility of realigning the

perimeter security fencing of the base to go around the school, allowing the school to

remain where it is.

Defence will continue to work cooperatively with the Queensland Department for

Education and Training on this issue, to ensure that the best outcomes are achieved

for the Amberley community as quickly as possible.
