Command and Intelligence Systems Support Services

contract signed



Greg Combet, Minister for Defence Personnel, Materiel and Science,

announced today the signing of a contract with Thales Australia to provide

computer support services to a range of ADF command and control systems. 


“I am pleased to announce that Thales Australia will continue to provide

support services for ADF command and control systems,” said Mr. Combet. 


“The five year contract with Thales begins this month and is valued at $51

million. The services will be delivered from facilities located in Canberra and

Perth.


“The command and control systems support military planning and the conduct

of ADF operations and exercises. 


“The systems are used at the strategic and operational level of command both

in Australia and on deployment. They are vital to the planning and conduct of

ADF operations and exercises.


“The command and control systems, comprising software application and

information technology equipment form part of the Joint Command Support

Environment.” 


This contract will support 37 jobs.
