Ceremony to mark initial acceptance 

of two Wedgetail aircraft


What:

Initial Acceptance ceremony for two of the RAAF’s fleet of

Wedgetail Airborne Early Warning & Control (AEWC) aircraft.  


When:

Wednesday, 5 May 2010 at 11:30am.  Media should assemble

at the main entrance at 1100am.  Photographic identification is

required to access the base.


Where:

RAAF Base Williamtown, NSW.


Who:

Minister Greg Combet, senior Defence personnel and Boeing

executives.


The Commonwealth recognises the Initial Acceptance of two Wedgetail

aircraft, delivered by Boeing.  Under an incremental delivery schedule,

Wedgetail aircraft will be delivered primarily in two configurations.  The first,

which relates to Initial Acceptance, will have system functionality that will

enable the RAAF to formally commence training.
