AUSTRALIAN DEFENCE MEDAL PRESENTATION IN

EDEN MONARO


The Parliamentary Secretary for Defence Support, the Hon Dr Mike Kelly AM

MP, will host a presentation of the Australian Defence Medal (ADM) for 17

Eden Monaro residents today (Wednesday, 23 April 2008).



WHAT: 

Presentation of Australian Defence Medals


WHERE: 

Queanbeyan Leagues Club, 164 Monaro Street, Queanbeyan,

NSW.


WHEN: 

11am today (Wednesday 23 April, 2008).


WHO: 

The Hon. Dr Mike Kelly AM MP and COL Jeffrey Martin Quirk

representing the Australian Defence Force.



BACKGROUND INFORMATION:

The Australian Defence Medal (ADM) was announced in March 2006. The

ADM was established to recognise Australian Defence Force Regular and

Reserve personnel who have demonstrated their commitment and

contribution to the nation by serving for an initial enlistment period or four

years service, whichever is the lesser, from 3 September 1945. 


Both volunteers and national servicemen are eligible.
