Background: 


The theme for the 3rd International Forum for the Challenges of Multi-dimensional

Peace Operations hosted by the Australia Government next week is the Protection of

Civilians in Multidimensional Peace Operations.


The Challenges Partnership comprises 17 countries that seek to improve the

international community’s effectiveness in response to the significant challenges of

peace operations.


More than two hundred delegates from more than thirty countries have registered for

the Forum including distinguished international experts, senior United Nations

officials and academics.
