AUSTRALIA’S FEDERATION GUARD PARADE AND

TWELVE GUN TEST FIRE 


WHAT:      

Members of Australia’s Federation Guard will conduct a Parade and

twelve gun test fire at the Australian Defence Force Academy. 


WHERE: 

Australian Defence Force Academy, Northcott Drive, Canberra ACT.  


WHEN: 

Friday, 4 December 2009.


TIME: 

8:30 – 9:30 am. Media should arrive no later than 8:20 am. 



Background:

Australia’s

Federation Guard will conduct

a parade, which will include a

twelve

round test fire of new ceremonial artillery as part of their preparation for ceremonial

duties in 2010.


The Guard will be inspected by Commander Joint Education, Training and Warfare

Command, Rear Admiral James Goldrick.  


During the parade,

Australia’s

Federation Guard will use simulated ammunition to

achieve their training objectives. The parade has been designed to have as little impact

on residents and office workers as possible but some loud noises will be noticeable

during this short period.
