ARMY APOLOGISES TO THE SOUTHPORT RSL

Army apologises to the Southport RSL, its members and the local community for

Army personnel not being present to support today’s Remembrance Day activities.

The 41st Field Battery from the Brisbane based 7th Brigade was approached by the

Southport RSL, Sub-Branch, to support this year’s Remembrance Day ceremony.

Unfortunately, the 7th Brigade was not able to support the activity.

The Southport RSL was informed of this decision at late notice. Army once again

apologises for this, and the inconvenience it has caused. The circumstances

surrounding this matter are being looked into.

This is the first year the 41st Field Battery has not been able to support the Southport

RSL Remembrance Day ceremony. The 7th Brigade is currently committed to

preparing forces for overseas operations and this task is the highest priority for the

Brigade.
