Melbourne man charged with child pornography

offences

A 23-year-old Mount Dandenong man will appear in Melbourne Magistrates

Court this afternoon after being charged by the Australian Federal Police (AFP)

with child pornography offences.

Federal Agents from the AFP Child Protection Operations Team executed a

search warrant at the man’s residential address today.

During the execution of the search warrant a computer allegedly containing

images of child abuse material was found and seized.

AFP agents charged the man with use of a carriage service to access child

pornography material under the Criminal Code Act 1995 and one count of

possessing child pornography under the Crimes Act 1958 (Vic).

The maximum penalty for these offences is five and 10 years imprisonment

respectively.
