Man faces court for bomb threat against airline


 

A 50-year-old Guildford man will appear in Fairfield Local Court today for an

incident at Sydney Airport in July 2009.


It is alleged the man assaulted an employee and made a bomb threat against

an airline scheduled to transport 271 passengers.


The man was served with a court attendance notice.


He was charged with making a false statement about a threat to destroy,

damage or endanger the safety of an aircraft, contrary to section 24(2)(b) of

the Crimes (Aviation) Act 1991 and common assault, contrary to section 61

of the NSW Crimes Act 1900.


The maximum penalty for these offences is 2 years imprisonment.
